#2: The E-18 Group of Nations

We know about the G-7 or G-8, and the G-20, but what the world needs now is a new alliance of nations whose leaders will pledge to work together to heal the planet, build a new economy that will restore nature, and set their sights on 100% renewable energy, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

In Journey to the Future, an E-17 Group of Nations is created by Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Germany, Holland, France, South Korea, Japan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Uruguay. They agree to work together and they take the lead in the global efforts to build a greener world. The US is a holdout, but a number of states have participant observer status, including Washington, Oregon, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, Illinois, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York and Hawaii.

With the election of Canada’s Liberal government I can now be hopeful that Canada would join the effort, making it the E-18 Group of Nations. I can even be hopeful that Canada might initiate the formation of the E-18.

The members of the E-18 would agree to share new ideas and initiatives; to support each other in developing new policies and advancing them on the global stage; and give the world fresh hope regarding the ancient Cree prophecy that tells of a time when the planet will be poisoned by man’s greed, and when people from all nations will unite to defend the Earth and its animals.

A BETTER WORLD IS POSSIBLE

Interview with Guy Dauncey

Why did you write Journey to the Future? Did you consciously develop the characters, or did they come to you too? There is quite a bit of darkness in the book. Was that deliberate, or did that just happen?

#1: The Solar Revolution

In the realm of energy, the solar revolution has vast potential for long-term impact. Prices have fallen a hundred-fold since the 1970s, and the German Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems has predicted that by 2050 solar PV will cost as little as 2 cents/kwh.
